Handling is razor sharp, and I do mean like a razor. The ease with which this bike can be over-steered at low speed can alarming. Gentle competent handling is a must if you don’t want to end up in a wall, hedge or ditch straight off the line. But slow isn’t why Felt built this bike, and at speed, reached effortlessly in the ENVE/Chris King wheels, is where it comes into its own. It just wants to go fast and when it’s gotten fast, wants to go faster to the point that at after a fast undulating descent it wont just hold speed into the following rise, it will continue accelerate up it. It’s brilliantly manoeuvrable and confident even if the rear does at times feel a little loose, that said, that ‘play’ in the rear track actually goes a long way to countering the liveliness of the super-light front end.The bad news, this bike has been ridden and carted round the world so it obviously has marks and wear from use the worst of which I have tried to photograph. The saddle has been repaired a few times (just the covering, the rails are fine) and could do with being replaced, ...there are some obvious scratches to the front of the fork crown, ...there are some chain drop scratches to the chain stain but just cosmetic, ...and some chips/scratches to the powder coat on the pivot/link (these were made by the TSA at Miami Airport). The stickers on the rims have been ripped up in places (as can be seen) during tyre fittings, but it is just the stickers the rims themselves are 100% solid. Finally, one of the pedals has a pretty good concrete kerb grind to it but nothing that affects performance. The pedals are about 6 months old so the bearings and pins are still good. That aside, for a bike that has been ridden as intended often on unserviced trails in Brazil (that’s Brazilian mud on those tyres), B.C. and Europe and travelled just under 40000miles by air this year alone, it’s in really good condition.More pictures are available upon request and viewing is possible by appointment in Central London WC2
