Vintage Colnago Mexico 1981 Campag Super Record, 53cm Pantographed, Eroica Ready

Vintage Colnago Mexico 1981 Campag Super Record 53cm Pantographed Eroica Ready.Currently based in Notting Hill, London W11 2DA. My Colnago is in exceptional condition, bought to ride Eroica challenges, but have not found time to ever enter one. Most of the groupset is new old stock and unused as is the chain, saddle, rims, cables and tyres.Have recently serviced brakes and gears. The bike has undergone complete restoration with all silver/chrome work, hubs, post, forks, stays, spokes and clamp cleaned to a high gleaming polish. It’s a lovely looking bike.Frame height is 53cm/21inch centre to top and 53cm centre to centre length. Overall a stunning and very clean bike ready to be ridden. The Colnago Mexico was built in honour of Eddie Merckx setting the 1hour distance record in 1972 in Mexico City. The World Championship 5colour rings on the transfers are unmistakable. Main difference between the Colnago Mexico and the Colnago Super also built at the time was the Mexico had thinner Columbus Record tubing to save weight: see weight chart link below. It’s the best choice steel Colnago of it’s era and this is a beautiful example that has featured in Cycling magazine at a Colnago owners event.Collection in person only or can quote for postage at Buyers expense.Link to Mexico Columbus tubing weight:http://www.cycling-obsession.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/colnago_super_tube_chart.jpg
